Large Hydro
The ANDRITZ Hydro Large Hydro Division offers the entire range of electromechanical equipment for large new installations. This core competence – the ability to provide all products and services from a single source – is based on state-of-the-art proprietary technology developed in our own hydraulic laboratories, as well as on the fact that core components are manufactured in our own workshops. In fact, the ANDRITZ Large Hydro portfolio ranges from project design, engineering, model testing, purchasing, manufacturing, and installation, to project management.
Modernization and Renewal
The ANDRITZ Hydro Service Division is specialized in the optimization of existing operations and maintenance of hydropower equipment. Hydro Service helps customers to achieve their objectives – maximize energy production yield, increase competitiveness, and generate sustainable value.
We provide individual solutions to meet customers’ technical, economical, and legal requirements. ANDRITZ Hydro’s services include components and spare parts supply, complete automation packages, installation services, short-term repairs and modifications, inspections and overhauls, residual life analysis, risk assessment, feasibility studies, training, rehabilitation, modernization, and upgrades.
Compact Hydro
The ANDRITZ Hydro Compact Hydro Division offers complete solutions (“water to wire”) for electromechanical equipment, covering the entire production line and service spectrum for small and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants with unit outputs up to 30 MW. The Compact Hydro Division has developed special product concepts leading to maximum efficiency, shorter installation periods, shorter delivery times, and optimized compact power house dimensions. ANDRITZ hydroelectric power plants up to 30 MW are thus particularly economical in operation.
Turbo Generators
The ANDRITZ Hydro Generator Turbo Division is one of the leading suppliers of air-cooled turbo generators in the world. We offer standardized solutions with short delivery times that enable rapid pay-offs for power station investments. ANDRITZ Hydro offers development and design, manufacturing, site installation, and after-sales services of turbo generators ranging from 10 up to 350 MVA. Over 650 ANDRITZ turbo generators are in operation worldwide, reaching a total capacity of 65,000 MVA. One of them is installed in the world’s largest biofuel power station in Alholma, Finland.
Pumps
The ANDRITZ Hydro Pumps Division draws its know-how from over 170 years of experience in hydraulic machine and pump construction, as well as from ongoing research and development conducted in the company’s research center. Our scope of supply covers development, model tests, design engineering, manufacturing, project management, logistics, installation, service, spare parts, and training of engineered large pumps. The world market shows growing demand for larger and more efficient pumps that are tailored to individual customer requirements. The ANDRITZ Pumps product portfolio includes standard centrifugal pumps, reactor pumps, as well as complete pumping stations. ANDRITZ pumps are used for various applications, ranging from safe drinking water supply for large cities such as Hong Kong and Beijing, to pump processes required in pulp and paper mills.
HYDRO Automation
Modernizations as well as new construction of large systems are characterized by a high extent of complex automation architecture, differing communication systems, and integration of the latest technologies. Cost-optimized hardware architectures with functional integration are the typical features in small hydropower stations. Each operational and maintenance concept takes a number of modern technologies and products into account. Any modern automation concept can utilize technologies such as mobile telephones, internet, and GPS for optimization and simplification of maintenance.
