About Gascogne Paper
Gascogne Papier is a long-standing specialist in unbleached natural kraft paper and an internationally recognized player in the specialty paper market.
Using maritime pine wood from the Landesde Gascogne forest, Gascogne Papier sources its main raw material within a radius of 60 km on average. Since being established by silviculturists almost 100 years ago, the company has aimed to develop the wood resource entirely within the Group.
Thanks to the installation of a new MG paper machine providing state-of-the-art technologies that enable it to make significant improvements in terms of performance and environmental efficiency, Gascogne can now not only meet the expectations of its customers and society, but also continue to make a contribution to reducing the environmental impacts of its activities. Since the installation of a biomass boiler in 2016, the Group has reduced its fossil CO2 emissions by nearly 70% and the paper mill now obtains 86% of its energy from biomass.
The kraft papers from their mill in Mimizan cover a huge range of products from baking paper to multi-media layers used to manufacture bags, as well as in the carbon fiber manufacturing process, including barrier papers, decorative papers, and much more.
