THE FIFTH SUMMER AT ANDRITZ
I am Elias, a 23-year-old electrical engineering student at LUT University. I have already worked for five summers at ANDRITZ. This summer I worked as a technical trainee in the wood processing automation, where my main responsibilities were various automation tasks in the wood processing.
One of the highlights of my summer at ANDRITZ was definitely a month-long work assignment at a mill in Kuopio. One of my wishes I had in advance was to learn more about sites and mills, and possibly visit a mill in Kuopio. I was very happy that my supervisor made it possible for me. During my assignment at the mill, my tasks included for example updating Comos, an automation design tool and database. In addition, I investigated problems in automation equipment and monitored installations.
During the summer, it was great to experience the team spirit that developed with other colleagues. I like working at ANDRIZ because of the great colleagues and interesting tasks. I would recommend a summer internship at ANDRITZ for future engineers, who are interested in designing and maintaining wood, pulp, and paper mills.
If I had to describe ANDRITZ as an employer in three words, those words would be productive, enjoyable, and high-quality.
For our future trainees I would like to share a tip that whenever you face a problem at work, never get stuck on it, but just keep moving forward and return to it later. Also, remember to ask for advice from your colleagues.
