PASSIONATE ABOUT MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
My name is Marika. I am studying mechanical engineering at the University of Oulu and I specialize in mechatronics and machine diagnostics. This was my first summer at ANDRITZ and I worked as a mechanical engineer trainee in Pulp & Paper Automation and Digitalization Recovery boiler SMART team.
My main responsibility as a trainee was the mechanical engineering in our team. I had a wide range of different tasks, varying from product development and product management to designing completely new equipment.
Generally, the highlight of my summer internship was being able to challenge myself and improve my skills. I was trusted with a lot of responsibility to implement operational solutions for new equipment. In addition, I had the chance to deepen my skills in observing technical aspects in mechanical design, component design, and 3D-modeling. I was able to apply my theoretical knowledge into practice.
I would describe that my trainee experience was educational, interesting, and challenging.
I would recommend ANDRITZ to anyone who wants to be in an interesting job where your experience and skills are recognized while having the opportunity to learn new.
As a piece of advice for our future trainees, I would say that don’t hesitate to test your limits and ask for advice if needed.
