ANDRITZ has been offering innovative separation solutions for more than 150 years. Today, we are proud of being able to deliver more wastewater treatment technologies than any other supplier, covering the entire wastewater and sludge treatment process (all from liquid sludge to dried Class A biosolids), including three thickening technologies, four dewatering technologies, and four drying systems, together with a complete range of in-house screening, ancillaries as well as proven service and automation technologies.
Our wastewater treatment solution packages give you the flexibility to choose the best individual equipment or a complete system for improved process performance. All components, electrical and automation systems, and services are optimized to your requirements, forming a complete process solution from a single source.
Our portfolio includes:
Rather than pushing a particular technology, we start by applying extensive in-house knowledge to analyzing your process requirements. Through in-depth consulting and testing, we identify which of our systems will deliver the best results. Collectively, this depth of experience amounts to more than 10,000 wastewater references, including more than 350 new municipal installations every year.
Today more than 30 capital cities around the world depend on ANDRITZ solutions for reliable wastewater treatment. Recently, we helped expanding the wastewater treatment plant of Cairo, Egypt, with nine high-volume belt presses for digested sludge dewatering, resulting in a total wastewater treatment capacity of 2.5 million cubic meters per day. When complete, the plant will serve a population of 8 million people, making it the world’s third largest WWTP and the largest in Africa (read more).
A few hundred kilometers farther north east - in Ambarli, Turkey – we helped to upgrade the wastewater treatment facility to serve over two million inhabitants depending on the capabilities of this one plant. Now six ANDRITZ Gouda paddle dryers are helping to treat 400,000 cubic meters of sewage per day within a very compact building. By converting biogas into electricity, the fully automated plant is able to achieve every one of its performance requirements while ensuring an optimal energy balance for decades to come (read more).
In Singapore, we went a step further by helping to replace six outdated sewage works with three massive new wastewater treatment plants, including constructing the world’s largest municipal sludge drying plant. Its five drum drying lines are capable of evaporating 11 tons of water per hour each and run entirely on biogas produced by sludge digestion, making the plant 100% sustainable (read more).
