Legal requirements acc. to European Environmental Law
ANDRITZ survey
The EU Waste Framework Directive 2018/851 and the REACH Regulation No. 1907/2006 requires that any supplier, importer or manufacturer of articles (article means an object which during production is given a special shape, surface or design which determines its function to a greater degree than its chemical composition does) containing Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) must provide comprehensive information to their customers and to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
According to REACH Regulation No. 1907/2006 Article 33 (1), suppliers of articles must inform their customers about the presence of SVHC if 0.1% by weight of the article is exceeded (as per January 2021 of SVHC listing).
ANDRITZ wants to meet these actual requirements of the European Union concerning environmental laws and in addition improve the material data quality.
As ANDRITZ is running international projects, also ANDRITZ suppliers outside of the European Union may be affected by these laws as an exporter.
Therefore, we have conducted centralized survey addressing this topic.
