The ANDRITZ Hydropower team in New Zealand is passionate about delivering fit-for-purpose engineering solutions to our customers based on modern engineering solutions. Supply and installation of new equipment on a “from water-to-wire” basis, major refurbishments of electro-mechanical equipment, as well as turbine governing and excitation control systems are part of our product portfolio. Our services range from condition assessment, spare parts supply and installation, detailed engineering calculation and advice on technical issues, and troubleshooting, upgrade and refurbishment options and advice, refurbishment and repair of all hydropower related mechanical and electrical equipment.
The offered services for the above mentioned product range includes complete detailed design with documentation and software development to manufacture, test, install, commission, as well as training and after sales support.
Our Christchurch office is also responsible for sales, project management, and procurement.
We undertake everything from small electrical or mechanical service and fault repair to major refurbishments.
History
ANDRITZ Hydropower has contributed to the development of hydropower in New Zealand since its early beginnings, with some very early turbines installed in Reefton (1908), Akaroa (1911) and Coleridge (1914). Through the mid-20th century, ANDRITZ Hydropower supplied many large low head vertical Francis and Kaplan turbines. More than 50 % of the installed capacity in the country features either an ANDRITZ generator or a turbine - from the large turbines in the underground powerhouse at New Zealand’s largest hydro station at Manapouri, to the brand new generators replacing the existing units at Aratiatia in the North Island.
